About the Role:
As a Senior Mechanical Technical Advisor, you will be part of a team of technical experts dedicated to supporting compressor station operations. You will provide advanced mechanical expertise, troubleshoot emergent issues, and ensure the safe and reliable operation of compressor station equipment and systems. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys being hands‑on, solving complex technical problems, and supporting field teams in real time.

Key Responsibilities:
- Provide expert mechanical and compressor‑station technical support to field mechanical technicians.
- Resolve day‑to‑day Operations & Maintenance (O&M) issues by actively participating in troubleshooting systems and equipment.
- Monitor field maintenance practices to ensure safe and reliable operation in accordance with industry codes, standards, and company Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
- Provide training and guidance to field mechanical technicians.
- Monitor technician progress within the Technician Qualification and Operator Qualification programs.
- Assist with developing and implementing policies, practices, and procedures related to compressor station operations.
- Support design reviews, commissioning activities, and post‑commissioning monitoring for compression‑related projects.
- Participate in equipment specification, installation, and evaluation at field locations.
Qualifications:
Required:
- Related university degree and 6+ years of experience
- OR 8+ years of field operations experience
- OR an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Mechanical experience in gas transmission, gas distribution, or industrial facilities.
- Strong technical background with knowledge of natural gas industry mechanical systems and practices.
Preferred:
- Understanding of natural gas operations.
- Strong competencies in computer use, communication, and collaboration.
- Demonstrated technical expertise in mechanical operations and maintenance.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to oversee multiple projects simultaneously.
- Excellent oral and written communication abilities.
- Experience providing informal leadership in a team environment.
- Familiarity with CFR 192 and related codes (an asset).
- Comfortable working in field environments with exposure to extreme temperatures, noise, and active construction sites.
Working Conditions:
- Combination of office duties and frequent field work to support and understand Area Operations needs.
- Travel to field locations as required (typically up to 25%).
- Field conditions may include exposure to high/low temperatures and noisy or dusty environments.
- Extensive driving may be required.
Physical Requirements:

- Grasping, kneeling, light to moderate lifting (up to 20 lbs), reaching overhead
- Repetitive motion, typing, extended sitting or standing
- Visual requirements (screen use, color coding, fine print)
- Adequate hearing for communication
- Ability to sit at a computer for prolonged periods
