Job Overview

The Change Management and Communications Lead is responsible for managing all aspects of assigned projects within the client’s Initiative & Change Management function, including development of program and project charters, detailed project plans, and coordination of execution from initiation through delivery of business results. Works closely with Business Sponsors, Business Leads, and key stakeholders to ensure alignment, effective governance, and successful project outcomes. Ensures coordination across initiatives, identifies interdependencies, and integrates change management activities throughout the project lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage end-to-end project delivery, including development of program charters, project charters, and comprehensive project plans outlining scope, schedule, budget, milestones, and deliverables
  • Collaborate with Business Leads, Business Sponsors, and Executive Sponsors to define project objectives, monitor scope, manage risks, and capture lessons learned
  • Develop and maintain detailed project schedules and coordinate resources to ensure timely completion of deliverables
  • Apply fit-for-purpose stage gating methodologies and utilize established tools and templates
  • Lead change management efforts, including impact assessments, development of change plans, and integration of change activities across all project phases
  • Ensure project governance through regular reporting on performance, risks, and progress to stakeholders and leadership
  • Support business process optimization initiatives, including process harmonization, gap analysis, and identification of automation opportunities
  • Prepare business cases, conduct current and future state analysis, and support system implementations
  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously, balancing priorities and driving results across varying subject areas
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure consistency, manage interdependencies, and support overall project success
  • Partner with training teams to assess training needs and ensure effective development and delivery of training materials
  • Coordinate with technology teams to support system enhancements and implementations aligned with business requirements
  • Act as a cross-functional project manager supporting multiple business areas such as asset management, operations, compliance, and work management
  • Provide support to leadership by taking on roles such as Project Lead, Business Analyst, or Change Lead for special projects as needed
  • Communicate effectively with stakeholders at all levels, including preparing and delivering presentations to senior leadership

Qualifications

  • University degree or equivalent experience
  • Minimum of seven years of relevant experience, preferably within project management, change management, or business analysis
  • Experience in business process optimization and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Strong understanding of project management methodologies, tools, and governance practices
  • Demonstrated ability to lead complex, strategic projects and influence stakeholders without direct authority
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills with the ability to translate technical concepts into clear, actionable insights
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with experience presenting to diverse audiences, including senior leadership and executives
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project, SharePoint, Visio, Teams, and Planner
  • Experience working with project management and process mapping tools
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, including both business and IT stakeholders
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment

Preferred

  • Experience with formal change management methodologies such as Prosci
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) or Business Analysis certification (PBA)
  • Six Sigma certification
  • Experience in internal audit or compliance-related functions

Working Conditions

  • Work may be performed remotely or in an office environment
  • Minimal travel required, with occasional travel for special projects
  • May require overtime based on project demands
  • Prolonged periods of sitting and working at a computer
  • Occasional standing, walking, and light lifting up to 20 pounds
  • Ability to manage multiple competing priorities while influencing stakeholders across the organization
