About our Opportunity
This role has a broad remit, is internationally focused, and will take the lead in facilitating the alignment of our 100% Safe and Well Program across the Detmold Group. It will lead the health and safety strategy to ensure that our work and workplaces have a positive impact upon all our employee’s health across the globe.
In addition, the role provides direct leadership to a team based in Adelaide, responsible for the management, promotion and improvement of health, safety, injury prevention and injury management across Australia.
About the Role
More specifically, your responsibilities will include:
- Continuing to develop and improve the Group wide Safety Management Framework
- Leading all activities to ensure the maintenance and effective operation of the licence for Self-Insurance
- Preparing regular HSW performance reports for the Detmold Group Board, Group Executive Team and other functional leadership teams as required
- Providing practical advice and recommendations on relevant HSE legislation, regulations and best practice to key stakeholders
- Managing and maintain HSE systems, policies and procedures ensuring they are robust, effective and support team objectives
- Leading the development, implementation and monitoring of effective HSW management system, consistent with relevant legislative requirements
- Leading and engage a team of safety professionals
- Leading our Group Social Accountability Program
About You
As the successful applicant, you will:
- Experience in a similar role within a complex, global, vertically integrated organisation (including manufacturing, supply chain, sales and corporate functions)
- Hold relevant experience and qualifications in Safety or a related discipline
- Possess experience in the development and operation of effective Health & Safety and Injury Management Systems, experience in Self-Insurance is highly desirable.
- Be an exceptional communicator, demonstrating the ability to influence and coach others, including executive leaders
- Ability to work independently, flexibly, cooperatively and efficiently as a member of a customer focused team
