Our Business

Transport for Brisbane division operates and maintains one of the largest public transport fleets in Australia to deliver public transport services for the people living, working, and visiting the City of Brisbane. Through contracts with the State Government and private organisations we provide clean, convenient, and effective transport options on bus, CityCat, ferry, e-bike, e-scooter, and soon - Metro.

Our Branch

Engineering and Asset Management Branch is responsible for maintenance of bus fleet and for establishing and reviewing maintenance policies and standards. The branch procures bus fleet, products, and services; and coordinates major projects and divisional ICT requirements.  

The Fleet Management Services (FMS) team provides a specialist function of acquiring, managing, repairing and ensuring compliance of Council's bus fleet.

The Role

The Senior Statutory Compliance Coordinator is responsible for coordinating Transport for Brisbane's bus fleet compliance with all administrative requirements for the operation of heavy vehicles in the State of Queensland.

The successful candidate will be the primary interface with Department of Transport and Main Roads (DTMR) for fleet administration, compliance, and account payments for a fleet of over 1200 buses.

The role includes the coordination and auditing of bus fleet registration requirements, statutory 'machinery' inspections (Certificates of Inspection), bus disposals and deregistration process.

In this role you will:

  • coordinate Transport for Brisbane’s administrative process to ensure compliance with statutory requirements
  • plan, coordinate, and administer the heavy vehicle machinery inspection, records, and labelling schedule
  • coordinate and administer the bus disposal process
  • record, process, reconcile and report all bus fleet related payments to DTMR
  • ensure all relevant vehicle records and certificates are accurately recorded
  • develop and maintain a technical and vehicle history library and maintain an FMS Register
  • develop, monitor, and maintain a system of procedures, and work practices

To be successful you will have:

  • knowledge of heavy vehicle legislation and compliance
  • ability to supervise, coach and mentor administrative support personnel
  • well developed verbal and interpersonal skills
  • demonstrated ability to research, analyse and interpret technical terminology
  • strong organisational and time-management skills
  • demonstrated information management and software skills with experience on a large asset and/or maintenance management system.
