The Role
The Senior ER Advisor will provide advice and support on a wide range of Industrial Relations matters across various Council Service Groups. Acting as a key point of contact for managers and employees, you will help navigate day-to-day industrial issues by offering practical and compliant solutions and advice. A core responsibility of the role is interpreting and applying Council’s industrial instruments, and legislation relevant to the services provided by Council. You will contribute to the development of workplace policies and processes, and support initiatives that promote a positive and legally compliant work environment.
About You
To be successful you will have:
- well-developed written, oral and interpersonal skills
- demonstrated consultative approach to build customer relationships and stakeholder partnerships to enable engagement
- experience in providing professional advice to internal stakeholders on employee relations enquiries
- ability to apply critical thinking to research, analyse and problem solve, particularly in relation to organisational and human resources management issues
- demonstrated ability to work in a team environment with effective organisational skills and ability to prioritise work demands.
Tertiary qualifications relevant to the role would be desirable, however problem solving, attention to detail and critical thinking skills are essential, as is the handling of confidential and highly sensitive information.
