Ward Officer – Enoggera Ward Office
A unique opportunity exists for a highly motivated, customer focused person to join the Enoggera Ward Office as a Ward Officer. As part of a small team, your role will be to ensure the effective administrative operation of the Councillor's Ward Office as well as liaising effectively with the community, residents and other stakeholders in their interactions with Brisbane City Council. Additionally, you will be responsible for updating social media platforms to promote a range of events and services to connect with the community in a positive way.
Key responsibilities:
- providing high level administrative support including a high standard of customer service in all interactions
- managing a high-volume shared email inbox and greeting residents as they enter the office
- assisting with marketing communications, including managing social media channels, maintaining website content, creating e-newsletters, and drafting articles for local print publications.
- coordinate local community events (as directed by the Councillor), including booking venues and suppliers, coordinating logistics, and executing advertising and promotional activities. Examples include mobile offices, Movies in the Park, new park celebrations.
Key attributes:
- previous experience in database usage
- proficient in Microsoft Office
- commitment to providing excellent customer service
- well-developed interpersonal, oral and written communication skills
- ability to work both autonomously and as a member of a small team
- highly developed time management and prioritisation skills
- experience dealing with sensitive information in a confidential and appropriate manner
- strong attention to detail
- willingness to positively contribute to team direction
- the ability to compile and create business reports, information sheets, presentations and correspondence (emails and letters including unaddressed and direct mail)
Your willingness and enthusiasm to get the job done, will contribute to the overall effective operation of the Enoggera Ward Office. The ideal candidate will show resilience, empathy and work well within a small team.
This role will include occasional after hours or weekend work by agreement.
