The Business

​​​​​​​Corporate Services support, equip, and help guide Council to deliver the Brisbane Vision through centralised corporate services and a customer-focused approach.

Information Services branch (ISB) supports and enables Council’s day-to-day activities and services through efficient, flexible and innovative ICT solutions. We lead the ICT strategy that supports Council’s business objectives, information management, and ICT service delivery.

​​​​​​​​​​​​​​The Role

The Principal Analyst manages and delivers the financial, reporting and analytical objectives for ISB’s service groups and budget programs.

In this role you will provide the high-quality information, data, reporting and outcomes for the Civic Cabinet Chair, Group Executives, Program Manager and Outcome Managers to support informed decision making and responsible financial and budget management outcomes.

This role requires considerable financial and analytical skills and experience; a sound understanding of Council’s and ISB’s strategic plan and goals; and a high level of agility to prioritise workload and ISB needs.

We are looking for a highly experienced analyst who can partner with key stakeholders in ISB and across Corporate Services to deliver comprehensive analysis to help drive ISB’s corporate plan.

In this role you will:

  • liaise, engage, consult, and communicate with key stakeholders on a broad range of projects, initiatives, and operational matters
  • lead the delivery of efficient, high quality financial support
  • maintain and utilise strong partnering relationships, networks and alliances
  • provide considered professional advice and sound judgement to contribute towards program and group goals and objectives
  • monitoring performance and identify and drive continuous improvement

 To be successful you will have:

  • an understanding of program funding; Council’s budget development processes; program outcomes, strategies, and services; and relevant stakeholders.
  • proven success in developing and maintaining relationships and influencing to motivate others to work towards key priorities
  • highly developed interpersonal skills
  • high developed analytical, research, and problem-solving skills
  • proven organisational skills to manage competing priorities while exercising discretion
  • proven ability operating at strategic and operational level with a continuous improvement mindset
  • extensive practical experience in the effective delivery of financial and managerial accounting services.
