About the role:

Support the Perth Regional Field Services (PRFS) Team in efficient delivery of Operations and Maintenance services by reliability and engineering expertise, budgetary advice, and technical support. Based in Canning Vale, this role will provide a specialist mechanical consultancy service in the areas of operation, maintenance, and construction of mechanical type assets for the Perth metropolitan distribution assets: Water, Wastewater and Drainage.

What the role will involve:

·      Work as part of a multi-disciplinary team to provide reliability, engineering and technical expertise, advice, and support to the PRFS team in asset maintenance reliability, significant asset related issues and incident management

·      Work as part of a multi-disciplinary team to provide reliability, engineering and technical expertise, advice, and support to PRFS stakeholders in delivery of new assets to the region.

·      Prepare technical reports on mechanical asset performance issues and technical matters related water, wastewater, and drainage assets[SD1] 

·      Support PRFS in the review of routine maintenance to ensure all risks are quantified and risk mitigation strategies are developed, implemented, and communicated across the business in relation to mechanical assets and their ability to comply with performance standards and requirements.

·      Communicate engineering, operator driven reliability and technical best practice across the Perth region.

·      Part of a team providing a centre of expertise for mechanical plant repair, maintenance, and refurbishment

·      Identify significant asset failure events and assess risk of failures occurring using root cause analysis investigation, CBM and risk management frameworks.

 

Key skills and experience:

·      Degree level qualification in mechanical engineering and maintenance and asset experience

·      Experience in the provision of maintenance support and asset enhancement services for mechanical assets with specific experience in the water & wastewater industry

·      Demonstrated excellent stakeholder management skills with the ability to communicate effectively across all levels of business

·      Experience in the investigation and analysis of mechanical engineering problems

·      Experience in technical report writing

·      Demonstrated understanding of the legislative and regulatory constraints for mechanical equipment and water and wastewater industry
