Are you a hands-on, self-sufficient Civil Operator who thrives working independently in the field?

We’re looking for a capable and motivated individual to join our small team in Wyalkatchem, where you will play a vital role in maintaining water quality across a vast and critical network.

Think of it like this, when a pipe bursts at home, you call a plumber. But when it happens underground on your street, it’s the Water Corporation Civil Operator who keeps the taps flowing for everyone.

As a Civil Operator, you’re more than a tradie!

You're a key part of the community, working outdoors, using your hands and head to keep the water network running smoothly.

From digging trenches to restoring burst mains, you'll be doing work that matters, every single day.

 

What You’ll Be Doing:

  • Contributing to safe job planning, team discussions, and regular workplace inspections.
  • Prioritising safety in every task, working with a zero-harm mindset where no injury is acceptable, and health and wellbeing are never compromised.
  • Operating, maintaining, monitoring, and repairing water and wastewater infrastructure, operational sites, and public facilities as needed.
  • Being available for overtime and participating in the on-call roster when required.

 

This role suits someone who:

  • Has strong problem-solving skills and a practical mindset and able to work in a small team
  • Can quickly familiarise themselves with the regional layout and pipeline network

Key skills and experience.

  • Western Australian “C” Class minimum ‘HR’ Class Drivers Licence desirable.
  • Experience in civil work and/or water supply systems.
  • Certificate III in National Water Package desirable or otherwise willing to undertake a Cert III National Water Package traineeship.
