The opportunity

The Project Officer position is responsible for managing the end to end delivery of dark fibre and managed fibre services, as well as Off Net Staging. This is an entry level role, and graduates are strongly encouraged to apply. The role will be offered as a 12 month fixed term contract, reporting to the Senior Project Manager.

Responsibilities

  • End to end project management of fibre construction orders, including managed and dark fibre services.
  • In-building, Data Centre, and External Fibre Construction.
  • Management of internal and external stakeholders.
  • Contractor Telstra Interconnect Access Management (Duct Access), JCI process.
  • Contractor Management.
  • Project Constraint Management, Scope, Time and Cost.
  • Database compliance, accurate reporting on order statuses and completion dates.
  • Project documentation management.
  • WHSEQ adherence.
  • Other ad-hoc related tasks.

Knowledge and experience

  • Tertiary qualifications in a relevant discipline; Project Management, Telecommunications etc.
  • Fibre Optic dark fibre and managed services end to end delivery experience is desirable. 
  • Knowledge of telecommunication fibre networks and construction in both external and internal applications. 
  • Sound administration work experience. 
  • Demonstrated knowledge of spatial systems and their application. 
  • Demonstrate expertise in or understanding of: 
  • Telecommunications industry regulations. 
  • Interpretation of relevant legislation and regulations. 
  • Negotiation, relationship building and networking skills. 
  • Microsoft Office skills. 
  • Excellent Communication skills, both written and verbal. 
  • Problem solving and diagnostic ability. 
  • Organisational skills and the ability to manage and meet competing deadlines. 
  • Great attention to detail.
