Our Branch
Asphalt and Aggregates oversees the management of Council's quarries and road surfacing operations, including the laying and repair of asphalt pavements, minor pothole repairs and road line marking. The branch consists of three core business units: Road Resurfacing, Asphalt Production and Quarries.
The Role
As the Scheduling Coordinator, you will be responsible for the effective planning, scheduling, estimating and coordination of Council’s Capital and Recurrent Maintenance Programs to ensure works are delivered safely, efficiently and to a high standard. This position oversees key support functions essential to programme delivery, including permits, tree pruning, minor drainage works and service adjustments.
This role also manages invoicing, progress reporting and data analysis for all works, providing accurate and timely management information on programme performance and financial outcomes. Leading a team of operational staff, the position promotes a strong customer-focused culture, performance excellence and a commitment to Zero Harm workplace health and safety principles.
To be successful you will have:
- demonstrated experience delivering a strong customer service focus, with the ability to engage respectfully and professionally with internal and external stakeholders
- proven capability to lead and manage team performance by setting clear expectations, providing guidance and feedback, and supporting continuous improvement
- strong written and verbal communication skills, with experience resolving operational issues in collaboration with customers, managers and key stakeholders
- well‑developed interpersonal and problem‑solving skills, including the ability to influence and coordinate people to deliver works and services
- demonstrated experience monitoring and reporting on work programs and projects, including budgets, financial performance, timelines and quality outcomes
- experience using project and works management systems and software, such as Microsoft Project, Microsoft Word, Excel and Ellipse, or similar platforms
- a C Class Drivers’ Licence.
Relevant qualifications in Civil Engineering (or equivalent) and experience in Asphalt and Aggregates Branch or Civil Construction are desirable but not mandatory.
