INTERNAL ONLY - BUILDING WORKER ROAD MARKING

Our Branch 

As part of the Asphalt and Aggregates branch, Road Surfacing and Road Marking manages and undertakes the maintenance, rehabilitation and resurfacing of Brisbane City Council’s road infrastructure keeping Brisbane safe, moving and connected. 

There are a number of permanent opportunities for labourers in the Road Marking team, Building Worker Road Marking, to work on both dayshift and nightshifts as per business needs. 

The Role 

In this role you will be responsible for undertaking road marking tasks across a range of council assets, ensuring they are compliant with legislative standards. Day-to-day you will complete all road marking and minor works using relevant process and equipment and work effectively in a team, to mark out on the road and install road markings to set standards and specifications. 

To be considered for this position you will have: 

• the ability to work well in a team to high performance standards 
• experience working in an operational environment using equipment and machinery and the ability to gain a knowledge of road marking equipment and machinery. 
• competent numeracy and literacy skills and experience in following written work instructions. 
• an ability to commit to participation in a duty roster system. 
• competent interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with others in a confident and professional manner. 
• an understanding of Workplace Health and Safety and Environmental legislation. 
• 12 months experience in road markings to set specifications  

Note: A full pre-placement medical and functional assessment is required for this role. 

Mandatory requirements: 

• MR Driver Licence 
• White Card - Work Safely in the Construction Industry 
• Level 1 Traffic Control 
• Level 2 Traffic Management Implementation
