About the role
As an Ecologist at Council, you not only get to work with high performing specialist teams, but the opportunity to also work with and gain exposure to some of Council’s interesting, diverse, and “high profile” development applications.
Working in close collaboration with your team and other multidisciplinary areas of the division, your role is to ensure best practice ecological and bushfire planning principles are considered to achieve balanced development outcomes.
The roles will suit Ecologists who are self-motivated, confident in own ability, experienced in developing and maintaining effective working relationships and can communicate, problem-solve and negotiate positive ecological outcomes.
You will initially work on low-medium level development applications including complex applications dependent on your level of experience.
As an Ecologist you will have:
- A degree qualification in Ecology/Environmental Planning or equivalent, relevant experience
- experience applying best practice in ecological, environmental and bushfire planning principles
- proven ability in developing and maintaining effective internal/external working relationships
- well-developed oral and written communication, interpersonal and negotiation skills
- high level proficiency with computer systems and software.
