The Sport and Recreation branch within Community and the Arts Services supports an active, healthy and connected Brisbane by enabling community participation in sport and active lifestyles. The branch delivers inclusive sport and recreation programs, manages and supports access to sporting and recreation spaces, and works closely with clubs, organisations and partners through funding, advocacy and strategic support. Its focus is on providing safe, accessible and community‑responsive opportunities that promote wellbeing, social connection and long‑term sustainability across Brisbane’s diverse neighbourhoods.
About the role
As Venues Operations Officer, you will play a key role in the Sport & Community Partnerships team. You will coordinate and fulfil operational administrative activities within the team and provide high level customer service and support to Aquatic Venues stakeholders.
Day-to-day you will support the team administratively with lease arrangements, liaise with internal and external clients through correspondence management of the teams’ inbox including CMX responses. This will require excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a confident ability to liaise with lessees, in both written and verbal formats.
You will also use SAP for the payment of invoices and assist with the production of statistical and performance reports, through skilful use of corporate systems.
You will be part of a passionate and supportive team that works closely with Aquatic Venue lessees, to deliver popular aquatic services to the community.
Success in the role is
- Being able to deliver a high standard of administrative support to operational areas and team members.
- demonstrating a strong customer service focus in all activities, especially liaising with lessees with the ability to prioritise workload and deliver to agreed standards and deadlines.
- effectively using corporate systems and applications relevant to office management, such as Outlook inbox management, CMX responses, Microsoft Office and SAP invoicing
- effectively maintain and enhance messaging including contact centre scripting/processes, web content and corporate forms as required.
- managing time effectively and a high-volume workload with the ability to reprioritise tasks as they emerge and maintain quality service delivery.
