Our Branch
As part of the Asphalt and Aggregates branch, Road Surfacing and Road Maintenance manages and undertakes the maintenance, rehabilitation and resurfacing of Brisbane City Council’s road infrastructure keeping Brisbane safe, moving and connected.
There are a number of permanent opportunities for Team Member, Asphalt to work on a dayshift rosters.
The Role
As Team Member, you will be required to work in a team responsible for performing routine tasks to rehabilitate and resurface roads, runways, parking areas and other paved surfaces. You will be involved in labouring tasks using hand tools and operating minor plant and equipment such as shovels, rakes, brooms, hand blower, jackhammer, vibe plate and small rollers.
To be considered for this position you will have:
- the ability to work well in a team to high performance standards
- a sound understanding of Council’s WH&S policies and procedures and EPA legislative requirements with the ability to apply these principles in the workplace to deliver safe outcomes.
- competency in asphalt labouring tasks including using hand tools and minor plant relevant to asphalt work.
- demonstrated customer focus and competency in delivering a high standard of customer service.
Note: A full pre-placement medical and functional assessment is required for this role.

- MR Driver Licence
- White Card - Work Safely in the Construction Industry
