Your opportunity:

You are a pragmatic, hands-on Data Science practitioner who is energised by complex, evolving environments. You influence without hierarchy, using your depth of expertise and clear communication to shape direction and align stakeholders. You think ahead, seeing risks and opportunities early, and adapt quickly as the landscape changes. You set high expectations for modelling quality and analytical rigor, but do so with empathy, supporting others as you lift capability across the organisation.

You'll make impact by:

• Technical Leadership & Governance: Define and uphold standards, governance frameworks, and quality practices across the full AI/ML lifecycle, ensuring robust, scalable, and well-governed production AI/ML environments.
• People Development & Mentoring: Mentor data scientists and engineers to build strong AI/ML capability, fostering collaboration, continuous learning, and high technical standards through coaching, code reviews, and best practice evangelism.
• Cross-functional Collaboration: Act as a trusted advisor to business units and senior stakeholders, driving adoption of data-driven decisioning and maximising the value of organisational data assets across domains.
• Innovation & Research: Evaluate emerging AI / ML technologies, frameworks, and methodologies, and introduce forward-looking approaches that create competitive advantage and accelerate delivery impact.
• Knowledge Sharing & Culture Building: Serve as the team’s “bar raiser”, uplifting capability across the organization through knowledge sharing, training, and championing a high-performance data science culture.

What you’ll bring:

• Extensive Data Science Expertise: 8+ years of hands-on experience applying machine learning, statistical modelling, and data science techniques to solve real-world business problems across diverse domains.
• Technical Proficiency: Strong proficiency in Python and modern data science/ML libraries, dbt, and software engineering principles for AI/ML systems, including CI/CD, feature stores, model observability, and scalable pipeline design.
• Operational Excellence: Demonstrated experience deploying and maintaining production-grade ML systems with strong reliability, performance, and monitoring across the ML lifecycle.
• Advanced Problem-Solving: Strong analytical judgement and creativity; able to breakdown complex challenges and deliver practical, high-impact AI/ML solutions aligned to business outcomes.
• Business Partnering Skills: Strong commercial acumen and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to drive outcomes in ambiguous, and dynamic environments while managing competing priorities.
• Communication & Influence: Exceptional ability to communicate complex technical concepts clearly, influence senior stakeholders, and drive cross-functional alignment on data-driven initiatives.
• Mindset & Leadership: A resilient, action-oriented leader with a “can-do” mindset and drive to turn ideas into measurable business impact.
