The Day to Day of the Role:
The Bid Director at oOh! media is responsible for overseeing the entire bid process, ensuring that proposals are compelling, competitive, and compliant with all client requirements. In this role you will be responsible for:
- You will coordinate cross-functional teams, manage timelines and key decision gate reviews.
- You will manage multiple RFP programs at one time, allocating resources efficiently to meet submission deadlines.
- You will spearhead market sizing analysis, competitor analysis and market trend reviews to enhance the quality and success rate of bids.
- You will partner closely with senior specialists in:
- Commercial
- Revenue and Growth
- Mobilisation and capital delivery
- Finance
- Legal
- Executive Leadership Team/ Board of Directors
- As a key stakeholder in designing oOh!’s network strategy and its execution through the contract pipeline, the Bid Director works closely with our Strategy and Transformation Office to deliver on a key pillar of our overall business strategy.
- You must have strong communication and leadership skills, excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities, as well as the gravitas to influence executives when needed, and a steady and diplomatic demeanor under pressure.
- This role will lead a Sydney-based, high performance team of writers, project managers and analysts ensuring excellence against tight deadlines.
- You are a mentor to each member of the team, reviewing the work of project managers/ writers and analysts providing guidance, and nurturing leadership skills.
The Experience Required:
Commercial Acumen and Bidding Expertise
- Over 6 years of experience in management or director roles within media, advertising, or a directly relevant industry. With past exposure to financials and legal.
- Highly analytical with strong financial acumen and a track record of ensuring bids are both viable and competitive.
- Proven ability to explain complex strategies clearly and succinctly to internal decision-makers and tendering entities.
- Ability to prioritize effectively in a complex, fast-paced environment while managing a high-pressure team, both in-person and online.
Industry Knowledge and Strategic Insights
- In-depth understanding of media market trends, insights, and data to support bid strategy and drive team awareness.
- Knowledgeable about network strategy and capable of aligning bid processes with market sights to identify growth opportunities.
- Effective management of pipeline, including clear oversight of oOh!’s expiry profile, continuous analysis, and identification of growth opportunities.
Technical and Media/Advertising Skills
- Strong understanding of media, advertising, and communications, with the ability to integrate these elements into bidding and commercial strategies.
- Proficient in the use of InDesign and Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook, Word, and PowerPoint.
Educational Background
- Bachelor’s degree preferred, particularly in Communications, Accounting, or Finance. Education in these fields is highly regarded and can provide a strong foundation for success in this role.
