This is a 6 month Max Term Contract, to support our Payroll team, Reporting to the Payroll Manager this role will apply knowledge of HR & Payroll policies, processes and administration in order to provide an amazing customer experience.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide operational and systems support throughout the employee lifecycle.
- Payroll system entry and ongoing maintenance to ensure access to reliable and accurate data.
- First level people systems administration.
- Generation of various reports both monthly and ad hoc to support business functions.
- Actively participate in the continuous review and improvement of all Payroll related processes and workflows to enhance efficiencies and service delivery standards.
- Coordinate the payroll inbox - Use initiative and judgement to determine when to escalate queries to seek the best and most comprehensive answer.
- Actively liaising with the wider P&C team to gain knowledge and insight into policy, practice, and process – to build HR knowledge and expertise.
Key skills and attributes:
- Ideally 2+ years in People and Culture operations role with working knowledge of payroll processing
- Strong HRIS skills with system administration experience
- Strong excel skills
- Sound understanding of Australian employment legislation (NZ employment legislation would also be an advantage as would an Award environment)
- Eager to learn new systems
- High level of accuracy/attention to detail
- Ability to prioritise tasks, work autonomously and deliver to deadlines
- Effective problem-solving skills and inquisitive nature
- Strong process improvement mind set
- Excellent verbal/written communication skills
- A “can do” flexible attitude is a must
