Lead Melbourne Airport’s soft services strategy and uplift safety, sustainability and traveller experience across a complex, high-profile environment.

We are looking for a Senior Soft Services Asset Manager to join our Facilities Management team and take ownership of Cleaning, Trolley and Estate Management services across Melbourne Airport and our growing business park. This role is the soft services subject matter expert, driving safety, compliance, service quality and operational excellence in one of the country’s most complex live operating environments.

You will oversee major service contracts, manage strategic initiatives, partner closely with internal project teams, and deliver solutions that support a seamless 24/7 operation. Your work will directly shape the traveller experience, enhance our environmental and sustainability outcomes, and support the goals of our Property and Ground Transport businesses.

Key responsibilities:

The role's duties and accountabilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Lead operational and maintenance agreements for Cleaning, Trolley Services and Estate Management, ensuring safety, compliance and high service standards.
  • Establish, prioritise and manage capex and repex initiatives with the Program Director, ensuring projects align with aeronautical agreements, approved budgets and total-cost-of-ownership principles.
  • Maintain data and intellectual property internally and ensure robust documentation practices.
  • Analyse and report performance data to drive financial, operational and sustainability improvements and uplift the traveller experience.
  • Build strong relationships with Business Unit project managers to understand needs and translate them into effective FM solutions for a 24/7 airport environment.
  • Manage escalations, incidents and reporting in line with corporate policies and risk frameworks.
  • Provide strategic contract management that delivers strong commercial outcomes and continuous improvement.
  • Support stakeholders and tenants to achieve Property and Ground Transport business priorities.
  • Drive improvements in environmental performance, sustainability and governance across soft service assets.
  • Lead and mentor the Asset Manager Soft Services and the Presentation Coordinator to deliver a high standard of service.

The successful candidate will have:

  • Proven experience working in complex, live operating environments with 24/7 responsibilities.
  • Strong attention to detail and time management capability.
  • Ability to analyse data and generate insights to enhance financial, operational and sustainability outcomes.
  • Experience managing multiple contracts within organisational frameworks, ideally with annual values over $15 million.
  • Understanding of regulatory and statutory requirements related to facilities and safety.
  • Asset operations or airport experience is advantageous.
  • A minimum of five years managing cleaning and waste contracts.
  • Degree qualifications in a related field or Environment are desirable.
