Description:

This position is to independently maintain and enhance Enbridge functionality for Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) systems in support of Control Centre Operations and related business areas. The role involves providing technical expertise to manage and resolve client issues for the overall benefit of PCSLD and Enbridge.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Play a key role in the integration of projects to SCADA production by providing technical support, troubleshooting, problem diagnosis, and application testing/configuration changes.
  • Work closely with Control Centre staff in the planning, organizing, and delivering of projects to the Control Centre.
  • Collaborate with the Loss Management, Power and Margin, Infrastructure Optimization, and Control System teams to assist with requests to meet business needs.
  • Work closely with the SCADA Operations and SCADA Support teams to ensure changes in the SCADA System are communicated and transitioned properly.
  • Oversee the successful transition of applications and new instances of OASyS, PROCYS (RTAP), and Cygnet into operation.
  • Assist in SCADA system commissioning efforts.
  • Support critical applications through a 7x24 call-out rotation.
  • Demonstrate a strong understanding of SCADA best practices, standards, and operating procedures.
  • Collaborate with team members to ensure SCADA project needs are met.
  • Communicate technical requirements to non-technical audience members.
  • Prepare and maintain documentation as per Enbridge standards.
  • Demonstrate commitment to the team and its success.
  • Participate in the Enbridge Health and Safety program.
  • Support the development and transition of the SCADA Replacement Program.
  • Ensure safe and effective implementation/execution of SCADA integration projects in collaboration with other groups within SCADA Services.
  • Escalate issues to the Supervisor of SCADA Services (Integration, Operations, or Support).
  • Demonstrate commitment to the team and its success.

Qualifications:

  • Undergraduate degree or diploma in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related discipline.
  • A minimum of 2 years of work experience.
  • Working knowledge of UNIX, C, C++, Java, Python, and Perl programming languages. Working knowledge of Process Control Systems and SCADA.
  • Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills. Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
