Job Overview

Our client is seeking a skilled Project Controls Coordinator to oversee cost and schedule development and control throughout the entire lifecycle of projects. This role involves generating regular and ad hoc analyses, including graphs, summary tables, and presentations, to support project management and decision-making.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive project control management, focusing on cost and schedule development and control.
  • Generate regular and ad hoc analyses, including graphs, summary tables, and presentations.
  • Assist the Project Engineer/Manager in managing project scope by providing insights into scope definition, verification, change control, and financial health.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to understand incurred field costs and stakeholder indirect costs, comparing them against budget and monthly forecast values.
  • Prepare expenditure profiles, workforce histograms, comparative capital cost estimates, and total program monthly forecast summaries.
  • Offer estimating support to other departments for internal cost controls.
  • Track key performance indicators and collaborate with groups to enhance overall project execution.
  • Develop templates, examples, and policies & procedures to assist project managers in implementing the Gating Controls Process.
  • Prepare project status reports with variance analysis and reasoning for senior and project management.

Qualifications

  • University degree or technical diploma in engineering, finance, accounting, or related fields. Other post-secondary education may be considered.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in project controls or project management.
  • General understanding of pipeline operations.
  • High proficiency in MS Excel (v-lookups, pivot tables, graph generation, sumifs, etc.).
  • Ability to distill large data sets into easily understandable analyses.
  • Working knowledge of PowerBI and Power Pivot.
  • Experience with MS Office Suite and Oracle/SAP.
  • Strong experience with EcoSys.
  • Ability to predict obstacles, challenges, and risks, and proactively determine mitigation strategies and innovative solutions.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Strong problem-solving, decision-making, organization, planning, and leadership skills.
  • Collaborative, team- and service-oriented work style.
  • Motivated self-starter who works well independently in a fast-paced team environment.
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • Project Management Professional designation.
