Job Overview

The Optimization Coordinator supports the Optimization Specialist within the client’s Repeatable Facilities leadership team by assisting in the identification, coordination, and implementation of optimization initiatives across program and portfolio activities. This role focuses on analyzing operational performance, supporting continuous improvement efforts, and ensuring initiatives are effectively tracked and implemented. The position contributes to improving cost predictability, schedule adherence, operational efficiency, safety, quality, and overall value delivery across the portfolio. The Optimization Coordinator works closely with leadership, program managers, and cross-functional stakeholders to support strategic initiatives, maintain alignment with business priorities, and drive measurable improvements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the identification and analysis of program and portfolio challenges, process gaps, redundancies, and operational inefficiencies using data-driven and continuous improvement approaches
  • Assist in developing, coordinating, and tracking optimization initiatives across the program lifecycle to improve cost predictability, schedule adherence, operational efficiency, safety, quality, and environmental performance
  • Coordinate the implementation of continuous improvement initiatives, including documenting lessons learned and maintaining standardized documentation, templates, and tools
  • Prepare performance analysis, dashboards, and reporting materials including key performance indicators (KPIs), strategic objectives, and initiative tracking for leadership review
  • Support alignment of major initiatives across Facilities Program Manager teams by coordinating meetings, documenting outcomes, and tracking action items
  • Assist in monitoring and reporting to ensure Business Unit priorities are reflected in program and portfolio plans
  • Facilitate communication and collaboration with internal sponsors and key stakeholders, escalating strategic or critical issues when necessary
  • Provide coordination and administrative support for presentations, leadership updates, and cross-functional planning activities
  • Support the removal of operational barriers and assist in coordinating resources to ensure initiatives progress effectively
  • Collaborate with peers and stakeholders to address complex issues, initiatives, and assignments across the portfolio
  • Communicate technical and operational information clearly and concisely to stakeholders to support decision-making and implementation

Qualifications

  • 7–10 years of experience in process improvement, operational optimization, or program coordination
  • Foundational knowledge of lean principles, continuous improvement methodologies, or operational optimization practices
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret complex data and present clear insights
  • Proficiency in reporting and data visualization tools such as Excel, Power BI, and dashboard reporting platforms
  • Strong organizational and project coordination skills with the ability to manage multiple initiatives simultaneously
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to convey technical or operational information in a clear and actionable manner
  • Ability to recognize when issues require escalation and proactively communicate progress or challenges to leadership
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, cross-functional environment
  • Experience in project management or supporting project delivery is considered an asset
