Job Overview:
The Supervisor, Financial Planning and Analysis, manages the budgeting and monthly forecasting process for North American Power assets while conducting variance analysis at the project level. This role is also tasked with preparing and presenting complex financial planning and analysis (FP&A) deliverables to finance leaders of Power Operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and present complex FP&A deliverables and business analysis to finance leaders, in a manner that is easily understandable and actionable.
- Review monthly and quarterly deliverables for external stakeholders such as joint venture partners.
- Supervise and lead a team of five full-time employees (FTEs).
- Communicate and address inquiries from senior leaders, demonstrating expertise in financial planning, modeling, and both GAAP and non-GAAP standards.
- Coordinate FP&A functions for North American Power entities, combining the performance of analysis with coordination and integration of staff work.
- Review monthly operating reports and accruals to identify variance drivers.
- Prepare consolidated annual budgets and analyze data from project models.
- Review and consolidate monthly forecast templates.
- Collaborate closely with teams such as Power Operations, Asset Performance, Financial Reporting, Investor Relations, Corporate Strategy, Tax, and Treasury for support and analysis.
- Conduct research and analysis for ad hoc questions and requests from stakeholders.
- Ensure compliance with SOX controls and related reporting requirements.
- Manage special projects as required.
- Capable of understanding, remembering, and applying instructions or information. Able to understand complex problems and collaborate on alternative solutions.
Qualifications:
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to work effectively across time zones.
- Seven or more years of directly related accounting experience.
- CPA or other professional accounting designation.
- Positive team player with a high level of cooperation and mutual respect.
- Excellent organizational, planning, and analytical skills.
- Strong financial system skills and experience with various financial accounting systems and applications.
- Ability to convey technical messages understandably to stakeholders.
- Capability to conduct comprehensive research, analysis, and evaluation of financial data.
- Adept at applying broad business, industry, and technical knowledge to resolve problems.
- Extensive understanding of accounting in the renewable power sector.
- Commitment to core values of Integrity, Safety, and Respect.
- Ability to grasp, kneel, lift objects up to 45 pounds, reach above shoulder, perform repetitive motion, and both sit and stand. Visual acuity to see screens is required.
Preferred:
- Experience working with Oracle Cloud, HFM, Essbase, and EPBCS.
Working Conditions:
- Office environment with tight reporting deadlines.
- Moderate overtime and flexibility required around financial reporting and close cycles.
