About the Role:

  • The Instructional Designer is responsible for the end-to-end design, development, enablement, measurement, and delivery of training solutions that support the Finance workstream. This role plays a critical part in ensuring end-user adoption of new processes and systems during the Utility integration and in future ERP transformations.
  • Working closely with change teams, business partners, and subject matter experts (SMEs), the Instructional Designer identifies training needs, develops high-quality learning materials, and equips trainers with the resources required for successful knowledge transfer.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Partner with Functional Change Specialists and SMEs to conduct training needs analyses and define learning requirements for all stakeholder groups.
  • Design clear and measurable learning objectives for training courses and activities.
  • Recommend optimal delivery modalities (e-learning, instructor-led, virtual, OJT, etc.) to meet program goals.
  • Create and maintain a Detailed Development Design Plan, following the ADDIE methodology.
  • Design, develop, implement, evaluate, and revise training curriculum and resources that enable end users to understand new systems and processes.
  • Create storyboards, training artifacts, facilitator guides, learner guides, job aids, assessments, and other learning resources.
  • Update existing ERP Release training materials and develop net-new training content as needed.
  • Ensure training materials align with program objectives, standards, and best practices.
  • Collaborate closely with SMEs, project leads, and change specialists to validate content accuracy and quality.
  • Manage SME review timelines to maintain development schedules.
  • Conduct quality control reviews of materials developed by other Instructional Designers.
  • Highlight risks, dependencies, and constraints to the Training Lead and recommend mitigation strategies.
  • Deliver train-the-trainer (T3) sessions for business unit trainers and functional team trainers.
  • Provide coaching and support to trainers during training execution.
  • Incorporate feedback from pilots and early sessions to refine materials and close learning gaps.
  • Conduct knowledge-transfer activities with functional teams and the enterprise learning organization.
  • Support the sustainment approach by ensuring learning materials remain current and accessible.

Qualification:

Required:

  • Post-secondary degree or diploma in Adult Education, Instructional Design, Information & Learning Technologies, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in training needs analysis, curriculum design, development, and evaluation across various modalities:

  • Strong collaboration skills with the ability to work closely with OCM leads, training counterparts, SMEs, and project teams.
