Work within the LaunchPad Laboratory team to test materials and products against internal and external standards, ensuring they are fit for purpose, sustainable, and compliant with legislative and industry safety requirements. LaunchPad is a specialist in-house packaging design agency, with the Launchpad Laboratory acting as the hub for research and development.

In this role, you’ll:

  • Carry out validation tests of packaging materials and products at our inhouse laboratory by following the established testing protocols.
  • Produce reports on test findings of material and functional performance.
  • Under guidance from the team leader, support process improvements and develop new test methods to meet sustainability and recycling requirements.
  • Assist with Detmold Medical quality assurance testing and reporting.
  • Research testing standards for legislative and customer compliance.
  • Co-ordinate external lab testing for product validation, food safety, sustainability, and other certifications.
  • Maintain the laboratory to a high degree of safety and overall organisation.

What you’ll bring:

  • Tertiary study in a scientific discipline.
  • Relevant experience in a laboratory environment.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills; able to simplify technical information for diverse audiences.
  • Detail-orientation with excellent time management; able to work both independently and collaboratively.
  • A desire to continuously learn and provide creative problem solving in fast-paced,
  • technical environments.
  • Critical thinking, with a curiosity to learn and interpret scientific results.
  • A dedicated commitment to workplace health and safety.
