About the opportunity

We invite applications from enthusiastic, self-starters with good mechanical aptitude to join our team at Detmold Packaging. We are currently seeking Machine Operators to work in our Self-Opening Satchel (SOS) and Flat and Satchel (F&S) teams to produce paper bags for many well-known retail and industrial brands.  Reporting to the Production Supervisor and based at our Brompton site, your primary role will be to ensure consistent production while maintaining high standards of product quality and workplace safety.

What you'll do:

• Follow standard operating procedures (SOPs) and adhere to safety requirements.
• Perform machine setup in accordance with product specifications.
• Maintain machine run speed and efficiency at target levels.
• Minimise machine downtime through good manufacturing practice.
• Collaborate with and support team members to improve team performance.
• Record production activities and actively communicate issues to supervisors.

What you’ll need:

• Good mechanical aptitude and a preference for hands-on work.
• A commitment to workplace safety and the ability to lead by example.
• Ability to work with integrity, display initiative and be a reliable team player.
• An understanding of and commitment to achieving quality and efficiency targets.
• Experience in similar environments will be viewed favourably, including operating machines, performing machine setups and carrying out minor maintenance tasks.

We have full-time opportunities across day, afternoon and night shifts so we are interested to hear from people who are flexible to work different shifts.
