Materials Handler/Forklift Driver

Location: Regency Park, SA

Employment Type: Part-time (36 hours per week) – Rotating roster (Day & Night shifts, 12-hour shifts)

About the Role

Are you an experienced forklift driver who thrives in a fast-paced manufacturing environment? Join the Detmold Group—an industry leader in sustainable paper and packaging solutions—and play a critical role in keeping our production moving.

We’re seeking a reliable and safety-focused Material Handler / Forklift Driver to support our Regency Park manufacturing facility. Reporting to the Manufacturing Manager, you’ll help ensure the accurate, efficient, and safe movement of raw materials and finished goods across our site.

What You’ll Do

Your day will include:

Material Handling & Logistics

  • Issue raw materials to production in line with schedules using a forklift, grab forklift, or manual handling equipment
  • Return unused materials to correct locations and maintain stock rotation
  • Pick and despatch customer orders accurately and efficiently
  • Load and unload trucks, ensuring all documentation meets HACCP requirements
  • Transfer stock between locations and sites, both physically and in computer systems
  • Conduct cycle counts and maintain inventory accuracy

Safety, Quality & Compliance

  • Demonstrate Detmold Values and follow all safety procedures
  • Identify and report hazards—See it, Say it, Solve it
  • Maintain a clean, organised warehouse and support continuous improvement in storage efficiency
  • Complete HACCP inspections, delivery dockets, and material receipts
  • Support quality and product safety management systems and Chain of Custody (PEFC/FSC) requirements

What You’ll Bring

Essential

  • A valid forklift / mobile plant licence
  • Previous experience in a similar fast-paced warehousing or manufacturing role
  • Good computer skills
  • Strong safety focus
  • High attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to work independently and follow instructions
  • Commitment to maintaining fitness for work and a safe, respectful workplace

Desirable

  • Experience with Kanban systems
  • Experience operating a Grab Forklift
