Salary Range: Band 5 - $95.346.00 - $108,078.00 per annum plus superannuation (Remuneration stated is for the full-time positions) 

Work type: Temporary Full-time 

Duration: Up to June 2028 (Extension/s thereafter but not guaranteed) 

Location: Brisbane City and working from home

The Role 

Provide advice and review drawings in relation to the assessment of development applications, ensuring that they comply with relevant legislation and Council policy. 

A unique opportunity to assess submissions to Council of plans and applications for development against City Plan 2014 and other planning policies and legislation. 

We will rely on your experience to apply best practice landscape architecture principles in the assessment of applications related to parkland planning, landscape construction and horticulture. You will continually utilise, apply and draw upon your negotiation, influencing and decision-making abilities to ensure sound, compliant outcomes are achieved which are suitable for their context and aligned with Council’s strategic intent for a Clean, Green and Resilient City and show cases Brisbane’s Outstanding Lifestyle. 

To be successful you will have: 

  • experience in landscape architecture principles, especially urban design, site planning and landscape management 
  • experience in best practice relating to parkland planning, landscape construction and horticulture 
  • exposure to assessment of development applications in complex and legislated environments 
  • strong decision-making and influential relationship building in large complex organisations 
  • an understanding of current relevant legislation, and awareness of Council policy 
  • a C class drivers’ licence is mandatory for this role.
