Our Branch Every day, Finance plays a critical role in creating positive outcomes for the community by ensuring Council’s financial sustainability.

The Role

The Business Partnering and Reporting Manager is responsible for implementing and sustaining an effective, best-practice business partnering model to enable a seamless and trusted interface between the finance value stream and the rest of Council. The successful applicant will lead and develop a team of high-performing, customer-focused business partners, fostering a collaborative, trusted, and service-oriented culture across Council.

The role is responsible for building transparency to enable effective assessment, prioritisation and delivery of integrated services and solutions that are economically responsible, sustainable and deliver return on investment for Council. The role will operate seamlessly across all levels of Council utilising the vast networks and diverse sources of information and insight to enable financially sustainable outcomes for Council and the community.

To be successful you will have:

  • proven understanding and experience within financial planning, budgeting, and reporting frameworks within a public sector or similarly complex governance environment
  • financial and business acumen and analytical skills, with the ability to evaluate, interpret, identify trends, and report outcomes and issues to inform effective decision making
  • stakeholder management skills with demonstrated ability to influence strategic outcomes at all levels of the organisation
  • exceptional communication skills and strong stakeholder management skills including the ability to negotiate with stakeholders.
