NEWS is a diverse group of planners, engineers, scientists, project managers, communication and engagement specialists and support people.
The Role
An exciting permanent full-time position has become available within our three Environment Centres located at Boondall Wetlands, Downfall Creek and Karawatha Forest. Brisbane’s Environment Centres are responsible for creating sustainable communities through the provision of various environmental programs and services.
As part of their programming, the centres develop and deliver fun-filled and educational school engagement programs at various locations in Brisbane. You will be responsible for running the centres on a daily basis and sharing your passion and knowledge with our customers. No two days are the same, and with a variety of working environments this role offers a great opportunity for those who enjoy working both indoors and outdoors, thrive in being part of a great team, and possess a real passion for environmental conservation.
It is a requirement of the role to be able to work at all three sites throughout your week on a rostered basis. You will also be required to attend various sites to facilitate educational programs. Some opportunity for overtime on the weekends may also be available if required.
About You
To be successful you will have:
- strong customer service and interpersonal skills, including a commitment to working in a highly effective team
- experience in the development, delivery, monitoring and review of environmental learning programs to school groups and the community
- the ability to establish, monitor and evaluate partnerships with internal and external stakeholders and provide advice on a variety of environmental engagement programs
- excellent time management skills with the ability to plan and prioritise high volume workloads
- a current driver’s license (this role would be expected to service all three centres and driving to various sites to facilitate programs).
