The Role

Join WSP’s Building Services team as an Electrical Engineer, delivering innovative and sustainable electrical designs for commercial, social infrastructure, and defence projects. You’ll lead small to medium projects and support larger multi-disciplinary initiatives, ensuring compliance with Australian codes and standards. Key responsibilities include:

  • Providing electrical design expertise across diverse projects.
  • Leading smaller projects and supporting larger ones.
  • Driving cost- and time-efficient outcomes for clients.
  • Building strong client relationships and identifying growth opportunities.
  • Collaborating with internal teams and external stakeholders.

About You

We’re seeking an enthusiastic Electrical Engineer with 2–5 years’ experience in building services. You’ll have:

  • A degree in Electrical Engineering (or related field), ideally working towards chartered status.
  • Knowledge of Australian codes and standards.
  • Experience with BIM software (Revit) or willingness to learn.
  • Strong communication and client relationship skills.
  • Ability to manage competing priorities and deliver quality results.
  • Passion for sustainability and innovative design.

What we'll love about you

  • Bachelor of Engineering (Electrical);
  • Ideally 3 to 5+ years’ industry experience on Australian building services projects from a selection of sectors, e.g. commercial, health, retail and education;
  • Technical skills pertaining electrical engineering, ideally in a consulting engineering environment;
  • Understanding and implementation of relevant Standards and Codes (AS/NZS 3000, NCC etc.) on building services projects;
  • Capacity to effectively handling competing priorities, prioritising work and meet tight deadlines;
  • Ability to liaise and coordinate effectively with all internal/external stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Track record of work effectively individually and in a team environment, and;
  • Well-developed interpersonal and communication (written and verbal) skills.
