Following the acquisition of Golder and the increase of our work pipeline, we’re looking for a passionate Senior to Principal Botanist/Ecologist to join our large team of ecological experts in NSW (Sydney or Newcastle).
You will provide ecological assessments and advice related to infrastructure project approvals and natural resource management projects. You will further develop your skills in:
Delivering rehabilitation, monitoring, biodiversity surveys, impact and offset assessments and ecological management plans
Conducting environmental analyses and mapping, research and field surveys
Writing technical environmental reports, proposals and tenders
Planning and managing projects with a range of complexity and scale
Building relationships with clients while actively pursuing new business opportunities
Ability to work independently with guidance
Mentoring junior staff and assisting with their professional development (senior role)

What we'll love about you
The successful candidate will have studied an Environmental or Natural Science discipline such as ecology, botany or biology, and be a team player.
You will also bring the following experience and attributes:
Previous consulting experience in biodiversity impact assessment and offsetting
Significant field experience (i.e. BAM and BBAM, Ecological monitoring, plant species and threatened ecological community identification, ecological data collection and analysis, managing project teams, etc.)
PCTs and vegetation identification training and botany skills
BAM Accreditation would be highly regarded
Some experience in GIS, field mapping and developing and managing spatial datasets
Knowledge of NSW BAM and State/Commonwealth regulatory frameworks and policy
Have a passion for ecology, conservation, biodiversity and natural resources management
