Purpose of the Role
Join a dynamic new team responsible for managing and delivering contracts from tendering to awarding, mobilising new services, and overseeing Service Level Agreements and shared services administration. This role involves analysing ongoing activities and conducting final evaluations upon closing contracts and agreements.
The Data Analyst will play a crucial role in the design, development, implementation, and support of Business Intelligence solutions within Business Connect and its partners at Sydney Water.
The role will leverage existing business intelligence tools, including Power BI, SAP Analytics Cloud (SAC), and other Power Platform tools, to drive efficiency and deliver actionable insights. This involves developing data models, creating data visualisations and dashboards, performing a range of data analyses, and ensuring the deployment and configuration of solutions for consumption. The role also includes monitoring data quality and ensuring data security.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with business stakeholders to identify requirements and develop best practice reporting solutions.
- Provide analysis and insights to managers and stakeholders to drive performance and data-led decisions.
- Work with other Data & Reporting Analysts to identify and acquire data.
- Advise stakeholders on data collection and visualisation best practices.
- Use Power Query and Dataflows to extract, transform, and load data from various sources.
- Develop and maintain effective data models using Data Analysis Expressions (DAX).
- Create interactive, actionable insights through meaningful data visualisations.
- Design and build consistent and themed dashboards.
- Ensure metric consistency between dashboards and corporate systems.
- Monitor and remediate data quality issues.
- Understand and implement data security, including row-level security (RLS) and data sensitivity.
Skills & Experience:
Strongly Desirable:
- Experience in maintenance services and contracts, including service level agreements.
- Background in construction or engineering.
- Proficiency in work order management and reporting.
- Proven track record of working on projects within these environments.
- Ability to deliver actionable insights.
Other:
- Strong oral and written communication skills, including formal presentation skills for all levels.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organise, analyse, and disseminate information with attention to detail and accuracy.
- Proficiency in reporting packages and Business Intelligence tools, especially the Power BI platform.
- Experience in BI analytics and data modelling.
- Effective people skills, including the ability to interact with all levels of management and business partners.
- Detailed understanding of report generation from SAP.
- Advanced knowledge of Excel, including pivot tables, lookup functionality, and data ranging.
