About the role
Sydney Water is excited to announce an opportunity to join a high-impact laboratory relocation project! We’re seeking three experienced Senior Water Quality Analysts with expertise in Biology/Microbiology, Chemistry, or Field Sampling & Testing.
This is a rare chance to apply your deep technical knowledge in a dynamic, hands-on project that will shape the future of our laboratory operations.
As a Subject Matter Expert (SME), you’ll play a key role in the successful transition to our new laboratory facility. This role is diverse and fast-paced—one day you might be packing boxes, and the next, designing new workflows and training staff.
Key Responsibilities:
- Act as the SME for your area: Chemistry, Biology, or Field Sampling & Testing
- Co-lead quality checks and accreditation efforts at the new site
- Conduct scenario testing and workflow walkthroughs
- Champion the change process and support staff throughout the transition
- Coordinate safety walkthroughs and contribute to design workshops
- Review and update quality documentation for the new premises
- Assist with decontamination and decommissioning at West Ryde
- Deliver training on new workflows before and after the move
About You
We are looking for candidates with:
- Several years’ experience in a commercial laboratory environment
- Strong understanding of quality and safety management systems
- Excellent communication skills and a growth mindset
- Ideally, experience in the water industry
