We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced HR Practitioner to join our HR Business Partnering team on a 12 Month Fixed Term Contract as our HR Business Partner to the Macpac business supporting across Macpac’s Retail Operations and Support Office space based out of the Macpac Support Centre in Christchurch, NZ.

About the opportunity

Reporting to the Senior HR Manager for Macpac, you will work closely with the Macpac business leaders and line managers in both New Zealand and Australia as a trusted advisor. This role will be the lead for all New Zealand specific people management practices and acts as an employee champion and change agent.

Some of your key responsibilities will include:

  • The support of successful delivery of HR Initiatives and programs of work, and providing SME support to assist the divisions in understanding their people initiatives, drivers, and metrics
  • Aid the business units in understanding, identifying, and building their talent needs
  • Work closely with the Workplace relations team to achieve their outcomes through EA planning and implementation, and assisting on disciplinary matters
  • Supporting strong communication channels across the business
  • Work closely with the business in developing strong and successful leadership capability aligned with a diverse and engaged team 
  • Ensure ongoing development of skills and knowledge within the workforce to enhance continuous improvement by creating development plans and networking activites 

To be successful in this role

  • You will have experience within Human Resources at a Business Partnering level, with experience in the consumer or retail industries being an advantage
  • You have a sound understanding of Human Resource practices across a range of areas, with a strong handle on relevant New Zealand legislation. Exposure to Australian practices and legislation would be also a strong advantage
  • You are experienced in working with a diverse workforce in both the operational and professional spaces
  • You have strong stakeholder engagement and management skills and are adept at working across different levels of leadership
  • You will be a natural communicator, with strong facilitation and consultation skills
