The Role
As part of our ongoing ERP transformation journey to S/4HANA and SAP Business Technology Platform (BTP), we have an exciting opportunity for an experienced SAP Developer to join our Solutions Delivery team. This role will play a key part in shaping and modernising SRG’s core business systems that support our stores, supply chain, and head office operations across ANZ.
Reporting to the Functional & Development Manager, you’ll join a cross-functional team of developers, functional analysts, and solution architects delivering modern SAP solutions as part of SRG’s transformation journey.
Your work will focus on designing, building, testing, and optimising applications across our SAP ECC and BTP environments — ensuring high-quality, maintainable, and scalable code that supports business innovation.
Your responsibilities will include but not be limited to:
- Designing, building, and enhancing SAP applications leveraging ABAP (ECC 6.0), CDS Views, and BTP RAP (Restful ABAP Programming).
- Applying Test-Driven Development (TDD) practices to ensure high-quality, unit-tested, and maintainable code.
- Contributing to SRG’s clean core and DevOps CI/CD engineering practices for SAP development.
- Collaborating with Functional Analysts, BAs, and Architects to deliver high-quality, user-focused solutions.
- Participating in peer code reviews, technical documentation, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Supporting system maintenance and release activities aligned with SRG’s governance framework.
- Engaging in innovation and knowledge-sharing sessions driving SRG’s S/4HANA readiness.
This role offers the flexibility to be based in Brisbane (Strathpine), Sydney (Rhodes), or Melbourne, with a hybrid work arrangement.
About You
- Proven SAP ABAP development experience (at least 5 years) in enterprise-scale environments.
- Proven hands-on experience in CDS Views and RAP (Restful ABAP Programming).
- Strong understanding of and practical experience in Test-Driven Development (TDD) using ABAP Unit or equivalent frameworks — this is a must-have skill.
- Familiarity with DevOps CI/CD pipelines, Git-based version control, and automation practices.
- Knowledge of Fiori/UI5 is beneficial but not mandatory.
- Experience working in Agile delivery environments using Jira & Confluence.
- Strong analytical mindset, attention to detail, and a passion for clean, maintainable code.
