About the Role

Are you ready to take the lead in shaping the future of transport compliance? We are seeking a Transport Compliance Manager who will be the driving force behind our Group Transport Compliance workstreams. This pivotal role sets the strategic direction, ensuring our operations remain aligned with evolving legislation, trade updates, and industry standards.

As the central link between SRG’s internal teams, carrier partners, and regulatory bodies, you’ll champion engagement, escalate critical insights, and provide leadership & reporting with the information they need to make confident decisions.

Reporting to the Group Transport Manager, you will act as the key conduit to brand and corporate Safety Teams, ensuring compliance intelligence flows seamlessly across the organisation.

Your key responsibilities will include but not be limited to:

  • Transport Safety and Compliance: Sets the strategic direction and operational plans for all Group Transport and monitors Safe Work Practices through Domestic Transport Operations in Australia & New Zealand, in compliance with Company Policy, Safety Standards, Legislative and Regulatory Requirements.
  • Transport Safety & Quality Standards Practice: Leads the delivery of the metrics and provides the headlines dashboard and detailed updates at a daily, weekly, monthly cadence.
  • Transport Commercial: Supports Transport commercial operating position and performance to the P&L, including loss prevention, claims management and KPI performance.
  • Capability Development: Ensures ongoing development of personal skills/knowledge to enhance continuous improvement across the business by creating and actioning personal development plans and networking activities.

The ideal location for this role is our Brisbane Support Office (Brendale/ Strathpine), though we are also open to candidates based at our Sydney DC (Erskine Park) and Melbourne DC (Truganina).

About you

We are seeking an experienced Transport Compliance Manager with strong communication and stakeholder management skills across geographically dispersed teams to deliver plans and drive change. You will have strong background in managing and delivering KPIs, change, and process management, and the ability to work with third-party service providers.

In addition, you will bring:

  • Proven experience in ideating and delivering strategic plans
  • Experience in quality assurance, compliance, safety, risk, and audit
  • Experience in leading small teams
  • Solid understanding of National Heavy Vehicle Regulations (NHVR), standards, practices, and policies, as well Chain of Responsibility (CoR)
  • Experience in Freight and Logistics
  • Expertise in incident investigation and reporting
  • Ability to create and maintain risk registers
