The Opportunity: 

You will join a collaborative Melbourne‑based geotechnical engineering team that is actively growing its capability and service offering. Working closely with senior engineers, you will support the delivery of geotechnical services with a strong focus on temporary works, construction support, and practical site‑based solutions.

This role is well suited to an early‑career engineer who is keen to build technical confidence, develop sound engineering judgement, and gain exposure to real‑world construction challenges. You will be supported through mentoring and on‑the‑job learning, with opportunities to progressively take on greater responsibility as your skills and experience develop.

From time to time, the role may also contribute to pitt&sherry's broader infrastructure design and development projects across Australia, providing exposure to a diverse range of project types and locations.

What you bring: 

  • One to two years’ of experience in Geotechnical Engineering
  • A degree in Civil Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering, or a related discipline (postgraduate qualifications are advantageous but not essential
  • Familiarity with geotechnical analysis and design software is desirable
  • A genuine interest in geotechnical engineering and construction support
  • A willingness to learn and engage with technical software and digital tools, supported by experienced engineers
  • An appetite to develop skills across both design and site‑based environments
  • A collaborative mindset, with the confidence to ask questions and learn from others
  • Clear, respectful communication skills and a positive, professional attitude
  • A strong work ethic and a desire to grow your engineering judgement over tim
