About the role

Reporting to the Head of People Services, the Remuneration Principal is responsible for managing the remuneration function delivering a framework that ensures the business can deliver against strategic objectives by attracting and retaining the right talent.

Acting as the lead for all remuneration matters, the Remuneration Principal is responsible for managing the annual remuneration activities as well as the remuneration strategy, framework, and governance. They will identify opportunities to improve and act as the key point for the business in providing advice on job classifications, market benchmarking and short and long-term incentive plan designs and management.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Partner with senior leaders to continuously improve the compensation strategy, policy, procedure, system, and governance.
  • Manage the job evaluation process and maintain the documentation and database to ensure the integrity of position grading framework.
  • Advise on the ongoing review of reward practices to support strategic business objectives.
  • Deliver the annual review for salaried employees including facilitation of the short-term incentive program.
  • Prepare annual business case for salary review recommendations and short term & long-term incentive program design for Executive and Board approval.
  • Partner with People & Culture Team and the business to manage, consult, and resolve compensation challenges and opportunities.
  • Conduct salary benchmarking and work with external vendors to ensure continued competitive advantage in line with market trends.
  • Research evolving remuneration practices in the external marketplace and provide guidance on the design and development of broad-based remuneration programs including fixed pay, short-term incentives, long-term incentives, benefits, and superannuation etc.

About you

We are looking for an experienced Remuneration Principal with a strong background in compensation and benefits management, with expertise in designing and implementing remuneration strategies, frameworks, and governance. You will have demonstrated experience in leading annual remuneration activities and ensuring alignment with the organisation’s strategic goals.

In addition, you will possess the following skills, experience, and attributes:

  • Previous experience in a remuneration function within a large complex business
  • Experience with HRIS systems (Oracle Peoplesoft, SuccessFactors, Workday, SAP)
  • Deep understand of job evaluation and job analysis methodologies
  • Trained in Korn Ferry Job Evaluation methodology desirable.
  • Strong Analytical skills with attention to detail and ability to illustrate large and complex data insights in simple ways (PowerBI and Excel)
  • Excellent problem-solving skill set with a focus on process improvement, efficiency and ability to find and execute creative solutions
  • Strong verbal and written skills and ability to partner with stakeholders at all levels and maintain confidentiality
