What You’ll Be Doing:
As a Research & Development Scientist based at our Clayton Innovation Centre, you’ll play a key role in developing new and improved high-quality products that support the long-term technical and commercial objectives of the Dulux Decorative business. You’ll work within the Commercialisation team—alongside chemists, sales, marketing, procurement, and production—to deliver NPD projects on time, ensure uncompromised product quality, and contribute to future technology platforms. This hands-on role blends formulating science, problem solving, data analysis, and cross-functional collaboration, all while maintaining strong safety, sustainability, and compliance standards. Whether you come from a commercial or academic background, you’ll be joining a supportive and innovative team environment where you’ll continue to grow your technical capability and influence real-world product performance.

What We’re Looking for:
- Qualifications in Chemistry, Material Science, Chemical Engineering, Applied Science, or a closely related STEM field
- Strong chemical knowledge with the ability to link technologies to real-world product performance
- Data-handling capability, including capturing, analysing, and interpreting information to generate insights
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate across multiple teams and stakeholders
- Strong time management, organisation skills, and proficiency with Word, Excel, and Outlook (SAP experience advantageous)
- Demonstrated formulation experience (highly regarded) and a passion for innovation, problem solving, and continuous learning
