Our Branch

Information Services branch (ISB) supports and enables nearly all of Council’s day-to-day activities and services through efficient, flexible and innovative ICT solutions. 

ISB leads the ICT strategy that supports the business objectives of Council as a whole, as well as information management and ICT service delivery in Council.

 The Role

 We have an exciting opening for a specialised individual with strong organisational skills to take charge of managing the discovery, access, and provision of Brisbane City Council information. This role involves working closely with Government agencies, external third parties, Councillors, Lord Mayor, Brisbane City Legal Practice representatives, Council executives, and internal Council business areas.

This is an outstanding career opportunity where you can join a professional and supportive team. You will have the chance to utilise your organisational and administrative skills and establish effective partnerships with various stakeholders throughout the business.

Furthermore, you will engage with a diverse range of internal and external stakeholders to facilitate access to a wide range of information.

This role is fast-paced and demanding, requiring a highly organised and proactive individual who can handle multiple tasks and work under tight deadlines. You will be responsible for managing confidential and complex information, as well as conducting research, gathering data, and compiling information within stipulated timelines.

To be successful in this role you will have:

  • well-developed communication and interpersonal skills appropriate to dealing with team members, internal stakeholders, members of the public, the Lord Mayor, and Councillors
  • superior customer focus, whilst managing confidential information, and exercising discretion with sensitive organisational awareness
  • knowledge and experience around Information and records Management – Information Discovery, Audit, Risk, access, and systems  
  • ability to negotiate and problem solve in a solution focussed manner, to achieve outcomes, within legislative, policy and process timeframes and standards
