As a branch of City Standards, Public Space Operations is a customer focused and commercially driven business services delivery team, that prides itself on keeping Brisbane’s streets and public spaces clean, green and safe for the enjoyment of residents and visitors alike.  

The Role  

As Scheduling Officer the primary purpose of this role is to work closely with the arboriculture technical and operations teams to deliver scheduled and reactive programs of work throughout Brisbane, utilising SAP and associated operational systems and processes. This work is to be delivered within available budget, on time and to agreed quality and scope and in a professional and business-like manner.  

Specific duties in this role involves:  

  • Monitor workloads and forward plan works and schedule resources, as well as liaise with scheduling team, office staff, operations supervisors, contractors and client representatives to ensure smooth, timely delivery of works programs within available budget and Brisbane City Council specifications.  
  • Manage large volumes of data and detail process completion, as well as maintain a range of processes and systems using technology (mobile computing) to assist in the efficient management of resources and services.  
  • Provide assistance, technical advice, guidance and on-the-job training to team members and respond to requests for information from various sources and provide timely responses on the history and status of works.  
  • Complete desktop inspections for notifications and where appropriate and schedule required work and also co-ordinate after hours’ disaster response to all stakeholders while continuing with standard work,  

To be considered for this position, you will need to have:  

  • Well-developed organisational skills, including proven ability to deliver work and schedules, manage competing priorities and participate in monitoring, tracking and reporting on daily program of works, including the ability to rapidly acquire knowledge in and successfully utilise technology.  
  • Demonstrated sound written and interpersonal skills enabling the development of collaborative working relationships with managers, peers, customers, suppliers, contractors and stakeholders.  
  • Demonstrated ability to manage large volumes of data and detail process completion in an accurate, consistent and timely manner.  

Desirable:

  • Possession of a current "C" Class Drivers License 
  • Understanding and knowledge of arboriculture terminology or demonstrated work experience in the industry.
