Infrastructure Services is responsible for delivering major infrastructure projects across Brisbane. We work closely with external contractors and stakeholders to ensure projects are delivered safely, efficiently, and to the highest standards. The Role

We are seeking a Strategic Coordinator who thrives at the centre of business operations – a proactive, highly capable all‑rounder who knows where to go, who to speak to, and how to get things done. This is a hands-on, highly trusted role and will act as the central point of coordination across administration, people activities, systems, processes and strategic initiatives. You will be the “guru” of information, the go-to person for navigating processes and systems, a problem solver and key support person to senior leaders.

Reporting closely into senior leadership, this role is critical to driving day‑to‑day efficiency while supporting longer‑term strategy and business improvement initiatives. Managing an administration team of 3 you will coordinate workloads, unblock issues, and ensure the business runs smoothly across people, systems and operations. This role will also act as a high‑level 2IC, including being a key contact for leadership (GM Asphalt and Aggregates), strategy alignment and major change programs.

You are practical, adaptable and comfortable operating across many moving parts. You enjoy being relied upon, solving complex problems and helping others navigate systems and processes.

You will bring:

  • highly organised, proactive, and detail‑oriented, with the ability to operate effectively in a fast‑paced, complex environment
  • strong systems knowledge and confidence navigating multiple platforms
  • solid experience in coordination, operations, or business support roles with experience in supporting change initiatives
  • excellent communication (written and verbal), interpersonal and negotiation skills, with the ability to influence effectively, and motivate others to achieve key work priorities
  • well-developed research, analytical and problem-solving skills to identify issues and trends, and an ability to recommend options for resolution
  • proven leadership capabilities consistent with Council’s Leadership Blueprint.
