About the role

We’re seeking an experienced Pipeline Operator with a mechanical background to support the operation and maintenance of gas facilities and pipelines. Based primarily at our Longford compressor station, this role also involves working across various sites along the pipeline network.

As a key member of our maintenance team, you’ll contribute to the operation, upkeep, and optimisation of state-of-the-art facilities, ensuring the safe and reliable performance of the pipeline and easement.

Key Responsibilities include

  • Responding to incidents and emergencies
  • Operation and maintenance of high-pressure natural gas equipment
  • Assist the team across all trade disciplines
  • Maintenance of valves and other mechanical equipment
  • Patrol and maintenance of the pipeline right of way
  • Liaison work with landholders and public authorities
  • A wide variety of pipeline duties including mechanical work, documentation and records maintenance
  • Inter/intra state travel required at times

About You

The successful candidate will have a Mechanical trade qualification (desirable) with proven experience working as a member of an Operations and Maintenance team in the gas transmission or gas processing industry.

You will also bring the following skills and experience with you:

  • Demonstrated Mechanical Fitter experience
  • High pressure gas experience
  • Centrifugal compressor operation and maintenance
  • Personal computing skills utilising Microsoft Office systems
