The Student Communications Officer prepares and delivers written, visual and digital content that supports student engagement, key milestone awareness and retention. You’ll contribute to campaign planning, stakeholder liaison, content creation and reporting, ensuring students receive the right information at the right time.

In this role you will:

  • Plan and deliver engaging student communications campaigns across email, web, signage and social media
  • Work collaboratively with stakeholders across the University to build out communications plans, ensuring students are well informed and set up for success
  • Use communication technologies and automation tools to schedule, segment and track campaigns
  • Report on campaign performance and use data to optimise and innovate


How will you inspire us?

The ideal candidate will have strong writing and editing skills, with the ability to create accessible and student-friendly content across a range of channels. You will be organised, adaptable and collaborative, comfortable using digital communication tools and learning new technologies to support effective delivery of student communications.

You will consistently demonstrate strong stakeholder engagement skills, as you build and maintain relationships with subject matter experts from across the institution. These relationships are key to you having the information required to inform students, as you seek to support the best possible student experience.

  1. A degree (preferably in a communication/marketing discipline); or completion of an associate diploma and at least two years subsequent relevant work experience; or an equivalent combination of professional administration experience and education/training.
  2. Experience in delivering engaging and high-quality communications using traditional and new technologies to maximise the effectiveness of current student engagement.
  3. Demonstrated ability to establish rapport and liaise effectively across a diverse range of stakeholders and client groups.
  4. Excellent time management skills, with demonstrated experience in juggling multiple projects with competing deadlines.
