The Role

We are seeking a Student Services Assistant to join our friendly team in the Department of Rural Health. This front-facing role is the first point of contact for students, staff, and visitors, making it central to our welcoming and supportive environment.

You’ll be responsible for:

  • Delivering high-quality reception and customer service, managing enquiries with warmth, empathy, and professionalism.
  • Providing general administrative support across the team, including room bookings, ordering supplies, and room/resource coordination.
  • Assisting with events and meetings by coordinating catering, cleaning, and security, and supporting agenda/minute preparation.
  • Supporting student accommodation processes, including managing applications and records using StarRez, and responding to placement-related enquiries.

This part-time position is contingent 3 days per week, based on funding at a HEW 4 Higher Education Level located at Coffs Harbour Campus.

About you

To succeed in this role, you’ll bring:

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with a polite, can-do attitude.
  • Initiative and empathy, with the ability to work independently and respond proactively to changing needs.
  • Solid organisational skills and attention to detail, particularly when managing bookings, emails, or coordinating events.
  • Experience in administrative support, ideally in a customer or student-focused environment.
