Reporting directly to the Pro Vice-Chancellor, College of Engineering, Science and Environment, the University is seeking a Dean and Head of School to lead the newly formed School of Computer and Information Sciences. The Dean and Head of School is a member of the College Executive team and is responsible for delivering on the priority areas of the University and College Strategic Plan, and for providing a clear vision and effective leadership for the School. This includes championing industry engagement and research translation as well as enhance student experience to help achieve University ambitions.
The new School of Computer and Information Sciences coalesces expertise in computing, information technology, data science and statistics, and applied mathematics, primed to deliver life ready graduates and a transformative and sustainable education which aligns to the evolution of science and technology. The School will deliver exciting new degree and postgraduate programs which reflect industry need and best practice.
The Dean will engage with stakeholders across and external to the College and University to position the School as a major driver of quality education and research, delivering innovation and impact in areas of global significance. Growth in local and global partnerships will be important, supporting the College and University’s efforts in strategic engagement with high quality international partners in education and research.
As Dean and Head of School, you will work closely with the leadership group of the School, College and colleagues across the University to deliver on strategic objectives, while fostering a culture of collaboration, inclusivity and innovation. You will have a proven track record of scholarly achievement in research and teaching, through demonstrated transformational leadership and resource management skills which should be complemented by your ability to inspire and engage with government, industry and community groups.
