Location: Sparwood, BC

Contract Length: 2-year contract, 14 ON, 7 OFF Schedule 

Reporting to the Project Manager, the Construction Manager is responsible for the activities required to move major capital projects through execution in accordance with our client's Project Development Framework. The key focus area for this role is to deliver the construction scope to meet the project goals and in accordance with the agreed construction execution strategy and construction management plan. There are three Construction Manager contract positions available to support our client's projects in the Elk Valley. All positions follow a 14x7 schedule rotation of day shifts.


  • 10+ years of experience in construction of Major Brownfield and Greenfield projects for the resource industry 
  • Bachelor's in Mechanical, Civil, or Electrical Engineering
  • Water Treatment/Water Infrastructure exp a PLUS


  • The scope of this role includes participation in design and constructability reviews as well as risk assessments
  • Incorporation of innovation and technology to reduce hazard exposure to people and the environment through safety in design and sustainability practices throughout construction and operational phases is also an essential component of the role
  • Ensure that the construction execution plan and schedule are further detailed in conjunction with contractors and Operations to reflect the most current understanding of the overall plan.
  • Evaluate strategies for cost and schedule optimization, exploring opportunities to reduce site labor through modularization, pre-fabrication, pre-testing and automation
  • Monitor construction activities against the construction plan and contract conditions and with the support of staff and contractor input, provide timely reporting on progress, cost, and schedule. Update and forecast planned work and schedule to reflect changes as the work progresses
