As Scrum Master you will help the squad remove impediments, optimise workflow, and enhance the squad’s productivity and communication to develop a high performing and self-organising squad. You will cover capacity and velocity management, assisting in prioritisation of work, shielding the squad from external interferences, capturing, and removing impediments and blockers and escalating where required, inwardly focused and ensuring the squad delivers on the iteration goals.

As this is a senior role, you will be responsible for the continual development of the team members within their squad/s through facilitation of ceremonies and execution-related activities and will work closely with the Delivery Manager on identifying improvement initiatives for the entire tribe. The role will be supported by the Agile Coaches in increasing the adoption of agile and best practice trends in the organisation and must have the capability to coach individuals, both in and outside of the teams on adhering to the agile values and principles and always striving for continuous improvement.

As the organisation continues on its transformation journey, you may be required to also perform traditional project manager responsibilities within some squads that will deliver through waterfall or hybrid methodologies. This may include managing the key constraints for the project including all aspects of cost, time, quality and scope. You will also develop a project schedule that covers all areas of the business required to achieve the project results, including dependencies on which the project relies to deliver successfully. Management of project inter-dependencies is a key responsibility of this role.

To be successful in this role, you will have proven experience as a Scrum Master within an agile team and have complete understanding of agile development methodologies, TDD, continuous integration, with short and frequent iterations and showcases and retrospectives. You will be a positive and inspirational leader to facilitate and coordinate the activities of a team of developers and testers, building a trusting and safe environment. Your highly developed time management skills and ability to prioritise workload will allow you to work flexibly across a variety of roles and teams in a fast moving, pressured & changing environment.
