About the Opportunity:
Based in our North Sydney offices and reporting directly to the Finance Operations Manager, as the Accounts Payable Manager, you will be leading a team of 4, and you will oversee the integrity and accuracy of the day-to-day management of the end-to-end AP function, ensuring timely and accurate processing across a large supplier base. You’ll lead and mentor a small team, manage payment cycles, and drive improvements in efficiency, compliance, and reporting accuracy.
What your new position will encompass:
- Oversee the end-to-end Procure-to-Pay process in NetSuite, ensuring robust financial controls and clear communication of workflows.
- Maintain compliance with company policies and accounting standards while ensuring accuracy and timeliness in AP transactions.
- Manage all AP functions, including bill processing, prepayments, supplier payments, and statement reconciliations.
- Review and reconcile the Aged Creditor report for monthly financial accounts, as well as for half-year and full-year external audits.
- Conduct AP exception reporting for both COGS and Opex to identify and resolve variances promptly.
- Process and review general journals related to AP activities.
- Lead, coach, and mentor the AP team to enhance performance, capability, and engagement.
- Set clear, achievable goals for individuals and the team, fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
- Assist with reporting and reconciliations from third-party travel and expense systems (e.g., Concur, Corporate Traveller, Uber).
- Contribute to internal audit reviews, project work, and ad hoc reporting as required.
The core foundational expertise and skills you will bring to this role
- 10+ years’ Accounts Payable experience, including 5+ years leading teams
- Strong leadership, mentoring, and stakeholder influence skills
- High attention to detail with excellent organisation and time management
- Sound knowledge of accounting principles and data analysis
- Solutions-focused problem solver with strong negotiation capability
- Excellent written and verbal communication, including with senior leaders
- Proven ability to business partner and build strong relationships
- Ability to perform in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment
- Advanced Microsoft Office and strong IT skills
